How many Ducks made the CBS college football Top 150?

Monday Blake Brockermeyer of CBS Sports ranked the Top 150 players in college football.

Only six Ducks make his list:

15. Isaiah World | OT
44. Makhi Hughes | RB
54. Matayo Uiagalelei | EDGE
85. lapani Laloulu | C
101. Evan Stewart | WR
132. Emmanuel Pregnon | IOL

A former All-American tackle at Texas and a first-round NFL draft pick in 1995, Brockermeyer was one of the first to predict Travis Hunter would win the Heisman Trophy last year.

Brockermeyer doesn't include any incoming freshmen, so promising Oregon freshmen like Dakorien Moore, Trey McNutt and Na'eem Offord are immediately excluded. His Top Ten for 2025:

1. Jeremiah Smith | WR | Ohio State
2. Cade Klubnik | QB | Clemson
3. LaNorris Sellers | QB | South Carolina
4. Garrett Nussmeier | QB | LSU
5. Jeremiyah Love | RB | Notre Dame
6. Dylan Stewart | EDGE | South Carolina
7. Caleb Downs | S | Ohio State
8. Sam Leavitt | QB | Arizona State
9. T.J. Parker | EDGE | Clemson
10. Ryan Williams | WR | Alabama

Brockermeyer leans heavily into the SEC and Clemson here. Both of his two edge rushers, Stewart and Parker, had fewer sacks than Matayo Uiagalelei's 10.5.

The Heisman winner is fairly likely to come from this list. Sam Leavitt of West Linn High in West Linn, Oregon did a great job in 2024 leading the Sun Devils to the Big 12 title and a playoff berth, nearly upsetting Texas, but how effective will he be this season without bruising running back Cam Skattebo, who has moved on to the NFL?

Skattebo rushed for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns for ASU last year, 605 yards receiving and three more scores. That's a lot of production to replace. Thrown in his 42 passing yards and the 5-11, 215-pound transfer from Sacramento State was 39% of their offense.

The first Duck to make the list is transfer offensive tackle Isaiah World at 15. Brockermeyer writes:

Huge transfer addition for Oregon, which replaces four starters along the offensive line. Long, athletic tackle with upside. Nearly 2,400 career snaps. Moves well in space and excels in backside cutoffs and second-level blocking. Still raw—needs work anchoring vs. power and refining technique. With continued growth, could be the first OL off the board in 2026.

Brockermeyer goes over the moon over World, and A'lique Terry has expressed the same kind of optimism for him, but the reality is the 6-8, 309 tackle was Honorable Mention All-Mountain West in 2023 and 2024, a 35-game starter at Nevada.

Terry and Cutter Leftwich are likely to elevate his game and improve his technique, but top 15 seems like a reach. That makes him the top offensive tackle in college football, ahead of Kadyn Proctor of Alabama and Spencer Fano of Utah. In three seasons with the Wolfpack, he wasn't one of the top four tackles in his league-- a big jump.

World didn't allow a sack last year. After Saturday's first scrimmage, A'lique Terry said, "I'm glad he's a Duck. I'm going to just be completely honest with you, he's one of those game changers, for real."

Another Duck transfer, running back Makhi Hughes from the Tulane Green Wave, comes in at 44.

Transferred from Tulane after a 1,400-yard, 15-TD season. Added 19 receptions for 176 yards and 2 more scores. Powerful between-the-tackles runner with elite contact balance. Doesn't have breakaway speed but fits Oregon's downhill style. Could lead the Ducks in touches in 2025.

The exciting thing about Hughes is that he rushed for 2,779 yards in two seasons, he led college football in 2024 with 994 yards after contact, 1,982 yards after contact so far in his college career.

For the Green Wave last year Hughes broke free for 7 runs of 30 yards or more. Oregon had just four such runs last year, one by Dillon Gabriel, one by Jordan Burch on a fake punt.

Matayo Uiagalelei cracks the list at 54. Brockermeyer's evaluation:

Breakout 2024 with a Big Ten–leading 10.5 sacks, 24 hurries, and 12.5 TFLs. Quick first step, strong hands, and the ability to bend and finish. Will play an even bigger role on a loaded Ducks defense in 2025.

No. 54 seems low with a player with Young Concrete's impact, especially since his role is likely to increase as Brockermeyer suggests. He was dominant in the first Ohio State game and again against Wisconsin. He terrorized Washington with a pair of sacks and had a sack or a half-sack in eight of Oregon's nine conference games.

Matayo U. is a great college football player. To get more recognition he needs to improve his lateral pursuit and make more tackles for loss, but he's already ticketed for the NFL draft.

The next Oregon player to make the list is center Iapani "Poncho" Laloulu, a junior who started all 14 games last year.

Massive and physical interior presence. Dominant run blocker with powerful hips and a nasty combo game. Played some guard early, adding to his versatility. Slight hip stiffness in pass protection, but has the strength and motor to win the Remington.

Laloulu didn't allow a sack last season in 494 pass snaps last season, just 10 total pressures. A freshman All-American in 2023, Poncho is a Remington Award Candidate as a junior.

Wide receiver Evan Stewart checks in at 101.

Elite athlete with untapped upside. Had 48 catches for 600+ yards and 5 TDs in 2024. Excellent route runner with start-stop quickness and vertical juice. Can make tough grabs look easy. Feels like the year he fully breaks out.

Stewart's a former five-star and Texas 6A long jump champion (explosive) who's just scratched the surface of his receiving ability. He's never had a quarterback who could take full advantage of his potential on deep and intermediate routes.

He does now. Both Dante Moore and Austin Novosad throw a beautiful deep ball, more arm strength than Dillon Gabriel, who made the most of his mobility and experience.

Offensive guard Emmanuel Pregnon is the last Duck to make the Top 150 at 132.

Massive frame and strong hands, but tape hasn't matched the hype yet. Athletic puller who can displace defenders in the run game. Struggles with block sustain and recognizing stunts. New offensive line coaching in Eugene could help unlock his upside.

A transfer from USC, Pregnon, 6-5, 320, started 25 games at USC at left guard. He didn't allow a sack in 2024. Terry let slip Saturday that his massive senior has six-pack abs.

What's shocking are the Ducks that didn't make the list. Safety Dillon Thieneman has 210 tackles in the last two seasons. Bryce Boettcher piled up 94 stops last year. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq is a freak athlete, 22 miles an hour at 6-3, 250.

Dante Moore takes over the keys of one of college football's most exciting offenses, with three Top 150 players on the offensive line, a Top 150 running back and receiver.

The year-end Top 150 might look a little different.
