Facing one of the most dynamic passing attacks in the country led by 5-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and five-star quarterback Julian Sayin, Washington will be without their best cover man, cornerback Tacario Davis.

According to a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel, Davis is doubtful for today's game, 12:30 p.m. PT on CBS. The No. 1-ranked Buckeyes are an 8.5-point favorite.

The transfer from Arizona went down with an injury after an acrobatic interception against UC Davis on September 6. He missed the team's 59-24 win at Washington State last Saturday.

The Huskies are 3-0 this season but unranked, coming off a 6-7 campaign in 2024. Facing a potent OSU passing attack they're missing linebacker Buddah Al-Uqdah, defensive lineman Jayvon Parker and nickelback Dyson McCutcheon from their defense,

The defending national champion Buckeyes score 40.3 points a game, even after a tough opening-week matchup against Texas that they won 14-7. The passing attack features not only Smith and Sayin but Carnell Tate and tight end Max Klare.

Taking them on with a depleted roster is a tall order, particularly after the loss of their best cover guy. All that's left for the Dawgs is the faint hope of winning a shootout with quarterback Demond Williams, running back Jonah Coleman and receiver Denzel Boston, considered by some to be one of the best offensive trios in the country.

The Buckeyes will counter with the nation's No. 1 scoring defense, led by Caleb Downs and Sonny Styles, allowing just 5.3 points per game.

Leading an injury-plagued team to a win on the shores of Montlake would be a monumental achievement for UW head coach Dedd Fisch.
