The Oregon Ducks have taken recruiting to another level under Dan Lanning, as it's become an annual tradition for the coaching staff to reel in multiple 5-star recruits. While the rankings are just an opinion from scouts, you can often tell pretty early with the 5-star recruits if the hype was truly real or not.
In the 2026 recruiting class, Oregon signed 4 5-star recruits, but only Jett Washington and Kendre Harrison were part of the team for Spring Camp. When Oregon kicked off camp on Wednesday, the Ducks got a first-hand look at two of their newest 5-star recruits, and the hype is already building.
Jalen Lott turned heads with Oregon practice debut
While most fans and likely the coaching staff were most excited to see 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, the Ducks also got to take their first look at 5-star wide receiver Jalen Lott. The Ducks already have a loaded wide receiver room, but based on early looks, it seems as if the youngster will have to factor into the rotation.
From the footage Oregon shared from the first practice of the Ducks' Fall Camp, Jalen Lott beat former 5-star cornerback Na'eem Offord for an impressive acrobatic catch from Dante Moore.

While it's just a clip from the first practice Jalen Lott is a part of, it's certainly reassuring the opinions everyone had of Jalen Lott coming out of High School. When you turned on the High School tape, you could clearly see Lott was an elite athlete that could make plays on either side of the ball, and seeing him make plays isn't the least bit surprising.
The biggest question with Jalen Lott will be how Oregon manages to squeeze him into a loaded rotation of wide receivers. Dakorien Moore, Evan Stewart, and Jeremiah McClellan will certainly get the majority of the snaps, while transfer Iverson Hooks will have a major impact as the 4th wide receiver in the mix.
Jalen Lott clearly has the talent to play early, and it would be wise for the staff to get his feet wet early in the season, in case the room deals with injuries like we saw last season. Given that Evan Stewart is coming off such a serious injury, the Ducks could look to ease him back into action which would only benefit the team long term.
It's still early in Fall Camp, and Jalen Lott will need to continue stacking great days in order to earn the playing time. Given the talent level, it's almost certain that Lott will make an impact this season, and he'll be an exciting player to track throughout the season.
