Jared Curtis decommitted from Georgia and is looking to Dan Lanning and the Ducks

With two starting quarterbacks in the NFL, a predominant backup QB, and even more passers in the reserves, Oregon produced an incredible slew of talented pass throwers over the last decade. From Justin Herbert to Anthony Brown Jr. to Bo Nix, the Ducks are on an undeniable hot streak.
Even the current Duck quarterback, sixth-year starter Dillon Gabriel, has garnered the attention of scouts and analysts from across the country.
So, with the recent decommittment of five-star quarterback Jared Curtis from the Georgia Bulldogs, it should come as no surprise that he has the Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning in his line of sight.
Curtis, a prospect coming in the class of 2026, in March of this year but decommitted following Week 7 of the college football season. On Thursday, Oct. 17, On3's Hayes Fawcett reported that Oregon was among Curtis' list of programs that stood out in regard to his future.
From Nashville, Curtis is still considering Georgia alongside the Ducks, as well as Ohio State, Clemson, South Carolina, Alabama, and USC. In fact, most recruiting sites have Curtis leaning toward the Bulldogs still, as well as the Buckeyes.
However, after the Ducks toppled then-No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes last week, a handful of recruitments have turned their attention west, towards Oregon.
There is, an expected, succession plan already in place for when Gabriel reaches the end of his eligibility after this season. Transfer quarterback Dante Moore, from UCLA, is expected to take over the Ducks' offense followed by one of the handful of blue-chip recruits Lanning and offensive coordinator Will Stein have recruited.
However, two years from now, Oregon will be on the hunt for a new young Duck to shape into an elite collegiate quarterback and Curtis could be just the player for that role.
