Dante Moore is going to be a great quarterback. Duck fans got a little spoiled over the last three years watching two QBs who finished their college careers with over 60 starts. He'll grow.

One thing that could help him is watching some Justin Herbert film. It'd be a great thing if the Oregon program got them together to talk football sometime, though right now both are pretty busy.

In fact, the Ducks could put on a whale of a Quarterback Camp, a Manning Passing Academy 3.0. In Herbert, Nix, Gabriel, Mariota and Hall of Famer Dan Fouts, they've got an all-star list of tutors, though schedules probably prevent it.

But in the words of the immortal Yogi Berra, you can observe a lot just by watching.

Three times this year Herbert has brought his team back from the dead in the fourth quarter, making clutch plays with the pocket collapsing and all hell breaking loose in the critical moments of the game.

Now, Herbert is in his sixth year in the NFL. Moore has had 10 college starts. The 5-star from Detroit, Michigan is gifted, self-reflective, humble and smart. He'll learn what he doesn't know and learn to handle pressure and make checks the way Herbert, Gabriel and Nix do-- after all, he has the same guy teaching him, refining his skills.

Scott Reed discusses the growth and maturation process for the Ducks in a terrific piece Sunday at Duck Sports Central.

Moore has a great mentor, and he has had some great mentors growing up. He'll learn everything he needs to learn. The lights were on at Autzen Stadium at 6:00 a.m. this morning.

But you can observe a lot just by watching.
