The last days of a major recruiting battle have a spy-versus-spy quality. Two beady-eyed, stealthy figures in trench coats lurking around corners, stuffing a sparking round bomb into each other's pockets, looking for the last alleyway before the fuse gets too short to hold.
In recent days Jordan Seaton has visited Mississippi State, Miami and LSU, and now Lane Kiffin and the LSU people are exerting heavy pressure to shorten the fuse. Matt Moscona publisher of the "Locked on LSU" podcast, reports the Tigers and their new head coach are pushing the 6-5, 330 left tackle to decide now and enroll in classes in Baton Rouge by the Tuesday deadline.
Seaton has a scheduled visit Monday night in Eugene, but there's speculation his decision is already made, that he won't make it. Four hours ago the headline at the Pro Football Sports Network website read, "Oregon Quietly Fades As LSU Emerges Frontrunner To Land Jordan."

Saturday night they turned on the lights in Tiger Stadium, the five-star from Washington D.C. taking a picture at midfield with Kiffin. Seaton's cousin Jayvon McFadden, a transfer lineman from Ohio State, just signed with Colorado. Kiffin's coyly posting Tiger icons on X, signaling a big commitment.
Three days ago, the new coach of the Bayou Bengals landed Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, making a move for instant relevance after ditching Trinidad Chambliss and Ole Miss during the playoffs.
With or without Seaton, A'lique Terry has work to do
Whether Seaton takes his scheduled tour in Eugene beginning tonight is the multimillion-dollar NIL question. With a pass-blocking grade of 91.4 (anything over 85 is considered elite) it's the kind of decision that determines the fates of fan nations. The big left tackle, a sure first-round NFL prospect, is referring all inquiries to his uncle.
On3's way-too-early 2026 college football poll came out this morning and it has the Ducks at No. 6 with nine SEC teams in the Top 25. The landing spot of the nation's No. 1 left tackle will move one school into playoff contention.

If Seaton doesn't come, A'lique Terry and the Oregon staff will redouble their efforts to train up Fox Crader, Ziyare Addison, Gernorris Wilson, Tommy Tofi and Immanuel Iheanacho. The next 50 offensive tackles in the portal have already found homes.
Last week Oregon added Michael Bennett, a 6-5, 310 right tackle from Yale University, a two-time All-Ivy league selection who gave up nine pressures and two sacks last season while committing just one penalty in 12 games. He's a good player, but no one to turn off the stadium lights for. To make maximum use of Dante Moore's passing arm, the Ducks could use Seaton, or someone who can hold off edge rushers like him.
It's all in the feet, the technique and the set. Most importantly, it's a product of tenacity and the willingness to get better.
