A testament to both team speed and national recruiting reach, the Ducks football roster boasts state sprint champions from Idaho, Nebraska, Arizona and California, 10.4 sprinters from Texas and Kansas.

Oregon recruits speed, and plenty of it. They have it at running back, receiver, tight end, quarterback, linebacker and defensive back. At the NFL combine this February defensive end Jordan Burch ran a 4.67 40 and linebacker Jeffrey Bassa clocked 4.63, and those two are far from the fastest Ducks.

Here's a sampling of the fleet feet on the Oregon depth chart 2025:

Roderick Pleasant, cornerback California State Champion in 100 and 200 meters, 10.14 100 at the CIF Southern Section Masters Meet, May 2023

Dakorien Moore, receiver 10.51 100 meters at the Timberview Relays in March 2024, Arlington, Texas

Malik Benson receiver 10.44 100 meters at the Bob Camian Invitational April 2021, Topeka, Kansas

Devon Jackson linebacker Nebraska State Champion in the 100 meters, 2021, 10.57. Personal record 10.54 at District

Luke Moga, quarterback 2023 second at Arizona 1A State Championship, 10.5 100 meters

Kenyon Sadiq, tight end District Champion at Idaho District 6 4A Championship, 11.37

Evan Stewart wide receiver 2021 Texas 6A State Champion in the Long Jump, 2nd in the Triple Jump, 10.58 100 meters at District, District 200 meter champion. Personal record in the 200 21.53.

The thing about track speed is that these are electronically timed rather than a hand-held stopwatch at a clinic or combine event. This isn't anecdotal: These are times and finishes recorded in competition.

The overarching benefit of amassing all this speed is that it creates an atmosphere of fast at practice. These are supremely competitive athletes. Fast guys make everybody play faster.

The fastest Oregon football player hasn't showed up yet. In 2023, Burley, Idaho 4-star wide receiver Gatlin Bair won the Idaho 4A State Championship in a time of 10.15. He's a 2024 prospect slated to join the team in 2026 after he completes his religious mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
