The busiest period on the recruiting trail has arrived, and the Oregon Ducks appear set for an exciting stretch. As college football's official visit season kicks off, on a weekly basis some of the Nation's best players will make their way to Eugene. Dan Lanning and the Ducks have made it a yearly tradition to sign a top 5 recruiting class, and right now Oregon will need to go on a run to continue the streak.

After picking up a commitment from safety Malakai Taufoou on Saturday afternoon, the Ducks hold the Nation's 9th ranked recruiting class. The good news for the Ducks is that they've made the finalist group or set official visits with some of the most talented players in the country.

Elite RB Landen Williams-Callis names Oregon in Top 10

On Saturday, elite running back recruit Landen Williams-Callis cut his list of schools in consideration down to 10, including the Oregon Ducks in the group.

Landen Williams-Callis is a Texas native so the Ducks will have plenty of competition trying to beat out Texas, Texas A&M, SMU, and Houston in their attempts to lure Williams-Callis out of the Lone Star State.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Landen Williams-Callis is the 45th ranked player in the country, the 3rd ranked running back in the class, and the 8th ranked player out of Texas. The highest ranked player in the Ducks class is Will Mencl who ranks 49th in the industry rankings meaning Williams-Callis would be Oregon's highest ranked recruit if he committed.

The Oregon Ducks currently have a running back committed with 4-star Texas native CaDarius McMiller. As Oregon continues to use a heavy rotation of running backs, signing multiple backs will be a priority.

Landen Williams-Callis is set to visit Oregon on May 28th, giving the Ducks a great chance to move up in his recruitment.
