In another shock-free decision in the Transfer Portal, former Tulane running back Makhi Hughes is entering after one disappointing season with the Ducks, announced on his Instagram page.
The 5-11, 210-pound scatback was rated one of the top transfer acquisitions in college football a year ago at this time, but quickly fell behind Noah Whittington, Jordon Davison, Dierre Hill and Jayden Limar on the depth chart, limited to 17 carries for 70 yards in four games with the team.
He elected to redshirt after six carries against Oregon State, suiting up for the James Madison game with an appearance on the kickoff team. He'll garner some interest in the portal, particularly because at Tulane in 2023 and 2024 he was a 1300-yard rusher each season with 24 total TDs.
His decision clears up another roster spot and brings Oregon's portal toll to 13. A year ago they had 18 leave via the portal, about average for a team with a deep, talented roster.
It clears up a scholarship spot, and one possible target is 6-7, 310 offensive tackle Tyree Adams from LSU, a former four-star recruit with two years of eligibility who started 11 games for the Tigers this season, allowing zero sacks.
NEW: Former LSU Offensive Tackle Tyree Adams has heard from these 12 Schools since entering the Transfer Portal & will visit Kentucky today & Texas A&M tomorrow, his agent tells me.

Offensive line is a big priority for Oregon in the portal as they'll lose Alex Harkey, Isaiah World and Emmanuel Pregnon to graduation after the year. Center Iapani Laloulu has already opted to return next season.
With running back Jay Harris also entering the portal, the Ducks will be looking for some depth at running back as well, something else to watch in the coming days. Hughes' brother Na'eem Offord is a freshman defensive back on the team.
