Message board anxiety grows as Brandon Arrington snubs Ducks

In addition to being a five-star prospect in football, Brandon Arrington is the reigning state champion in the 100 and 200 meters with a top time of 10.21 in the 100. He bypassed the Ducks Thursday morning, committing to Texa A&M.

Five-star athlete Brandon "Dash" Arrington chose Texas A&M in a ceremony at the Mount Miguel Cultural Center Thursday morning, the latest in a series of high-profile recruits to consider the Ducks but choose to go elsewhere.

In recent weeks Dan Lanning and Oregon have come up short for quarterback Jared Curtis (Georgia), tackle Jackson Cantwell (Miami), tight end Mark Bowman (USC) and cornerback Elbert Hill (USC).

Arrington is 6-3, 180 and runs a 4.27 40.

Though they have other targets and it's still 24 weeks until the early signing period begins, the string of misses and decommitments has Duck fans feeling like they're watching a track meet where their favorite two-miler is hanging back, hanging back and waiting to make his move while the rest of the pack races out to a big lead.

At cornerback, the position Arrington is likely to play in college, the Ducks have one commitment in the 2026 class, the speedy, hard-hitting Nickle from Melbourne, Florida, Xavier Lherisse. This weekend they have a visit from 6-0 four-star Jalen Lott, as well as 6-2 Khary Adams of Towson, Maryland.

Oaks Christian safey Davon Benjamin visited June 13, and he's trending toward Oregon prior to a visit this weekend to Washington.

Now Oregon fans have to shift focus to 5-star tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, who visits this weekend, 5-star quarterback Ryder Lyons, who announces on June 24 after a visit to BYU, 5-star edge rusher Anthony Jones, and 6-5 safety Jett Washington, who is (currently) trending to the Ducks.
