Longtime Cowboy fan and OSU alumnus Calvin Alexander covers Oklahoma State football on his podcast, "The CGA Tour." This week he invited Autzen Zoo on to preview the Ducks' Game Two matchup in Autzen Stadium.
Cal asked how Oregon fans viewed the game, whether or not the nonconference matchup was viewed as an easy win.
""I'm worried about all of them every year. I mean, there's no game in college football that's a guaranteed win. And even though the Cowboys are coming off a three and nine season, Mike Gundy hasn't forgotten how to coach. The man had 18 winning seasons in a row in Stillwater. They finished in the top 25 10 times. In 2012 they were 12-1 and number three in the country. He hasn't forgotten how to coach."
The CGA host asked AZ if Duck fans expected a walkover.
"Early season games are unpredictable. Last season, the Ducks had an opener with Idaho of the Big Sky, and it was a game that wasn't decided until the fourth quarter. I mean, the Vandals were just ready to play. The Oregon offensive line was a little disorganized. It was early in the year and it was a 24-14 final and they needed a drive in the fourth quarter to put it away."
Over the course of the conversation we discussed realignment, NIL and the portal, plus Oregon's prospects for this year and what's expected from new quarterback Dante Moore.
