In the crazed world of NIL and revenue sharing, an elite left tackle can go for as much as two million jalapenos. In a given year there are rarely more than five of them in the country.

So it's a bit nervous-making that Oregon commit Immanuel Iheanacho, the five-star left tackle from Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda, Maryland, visited LSU last weekend with a trip to Miami Saturday to take in the No. 4 Hurricanes versus 1-2 Florida at Hard Rock Stadium.

Mario Cristobal and Alex Mirabal already outdueled the Ducks and the entire college football world for No. 1 left tackle Jackson Cantwell. Pilfering Iheanacho, 6-7, 345, the No. 2 left tackle and No. 23 prospect for 2026, would be tantamount to gator-poaching in the Everglades.

It's the Under Armour All-American's second trip to Coral Gables. Steve Wiltfong of On3 Sports reported this week, "LSU is the program that is the biggest threat to the Ducks."

While Iheanacho's strength and length are not easy to duplicate, what makes him exceptional are work habits and footwork. He's a high school basketball player who has powered up a 650-pound squat. Oh yeah, he's also an A student at a D.C.-area prep school.

Taking the additional trips to take in gameday atmospheres around the country is the experience of a lifetime for the young man, and Duck fans can't begrudge him the grand adventure.

Still, it'd be less nerve-wracking for Oregon to complete another Top Ten season and have the agile behemoth signed, sealed and delivered to the school that's produced an Outland Trophy Award winner, a Rimington Award winner and two first-round o-line draft picks in the last several seasons.
