It would take some scintillating performances and a major redemption arc for Dante Moore to climb back into the Heisman race. He's barely a contender after a one touchdown, two interception performance in a 30-20 loss to Indiana.

Latest Heisman Odds, FanDuel:

Carson Beck (Miami) +340
Ty Simpson (Alabama) +340
Fernando Mendoza (Indiana) +470
Julian Sayin (Ohio State) +1500
Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State) +1500
Dante Moore (Oregon) +1900

Moore took a deep dive from co-favorite to longshot after looking out of synch and uncomfortable against the Hoosiers. The visitors sacked him six times and he had trouble spotting receivers or adjusting his protections, throwing two interceptions in the fourth quarter.

For the game he was 21-34 passing for 186 yards, with a majority of his throws short passes and check downs, only one shot downfield, complete to Malik Benson for a 44-yard touchdown in the first quarter for a 7-3 lead, the Ducks only lead of the game.

Beck has made a big move upward after leading Miami to a No. 2 ranking and a 5-0 start. He ranks 13th nationally in passing rating with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions, 1,213 yards, completing 73 percent of his throws.

In Alabama's 5-1 start co-leader Ty Simpson has tossed 16 touchdowns with one interception while throwing for 1,678 yards.

Gaining some momentum but not yet on the leaderboard is Washington quarterback Demond Williams, who has rushed for 382 yards and four TDs, passed for 1,628 yards and 10 TDs as the surprising Huskies are 5-1 coming off a big Friday night win over Rutgers.

As the season reaches the halfway point in a year of parity, the race is still wide open. Every week there are surprising upsets. So far no candidate has captured the attention of Heisman voters the way Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty did a year ago.
