Twenty-four hours after the release of the College Football Playoff bracket, FanDuel and other betting sites have updated the odds to win the national championship.

Before the bracket reveal, Oregon was at +1000 to win the national title, January 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. With Notre Dame eliminated and the field set, the Ducks' chances to win have taken an uptick:

2025 National Championship Odds, FanDuel Sportsbook

Ohio State +220

Indiana +290

Georgia +550

Oregon +800

Texas Tech +900

Texas A&M +1700

Alabama +2200

Miami Florida +2200

Ole Miss +2200

Oklahoma +5000

James Madison +50000

Tulane +75000

The Ducks are a 20.5-point favorite in their first-round game against James Madison, Saturday, December 20 at Autzen Stadium, 4:30 p.m. PT on TNT and HBO Max. In the quarterfinals they would travel to the Orange Bowl to play No. 4 seed Texas Tech at 9 a.m. January 1 on ESPN.

Oregon coordinators Tosh Lupoi and Will Stein, who were hired as head coaches at Cal and Kentucky last week, will remain with the team and call plays through the playoffs while doing double duty, hiring a staff and scouting the portal at their new schools. Dan Lanning did the same thing at Georgia in 2021 after he took the Oregon job.

Playoff football involves a process, with no shortcuts

Yesterday Lanning expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of a first-ever home playoff game in Autzen Stadium on a Saturday night.

“I think our fans are going to be unbelievable," Lanning said. "This will be a unique atmosphere that doesn't exist in the last 20 years, and now you get the opportunity to experience it now. I know our players are excited to play this team, just really getting started, hopping in and evaluate these guys."

He emphasized that preparing for the loser-goes-home environment of the playoffs was a process, and that the Ducks were fully committed. This time, the odds appear to be in their favor.
