Saturday marked a bizarre day in Stillwater for the showdown between the Oregon Ducks and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Warmups were halted by lightning in the area, and when the teams returned to the field, it looked like Oregon never woke up or left the locker room. The Ducks were outclassed in every aspect of the game, despite the fact that the scoreboard only showed an 8-point loss for Dan Lanning's team.
Eric Morris' team started the season 0-1, losing to in-state Tulsa, yet the Oklahoma State fans still showed up to pack Boone Pickens Stadium for his home debut. The fans showed up, and the team made sure to reward them with an environment they'll likely never forget.

After Oklahoma State took a knee to close out the biggest upset early in the 2026-27 season, the Cowboys fans rightfully celebrated. The fans instantly stormed the field in celebration, and the Cowboys were quick to unleash a savage troll, playing the song "Shout!" as the fans stormed onto the field.

Oregon famously plays "Shout!" at the end of the 3rd quarter inside Autzen Stadium, sending the fans into a frenzy, and after the 69-3 beatdown the Ducks put on the Cowboys last season, they certainly weren't going to take the upset win lightly. Chances to get revenge aren't guaranteed in college football, and the Cowboys were given the chance and delivered with one of the biggest upsets imaginable.
Once the students and fans made their way down to the field, the fans tore down the goalposts, taking them to Theta Pond for the first time since 2023 after their win in the final Bedlam Rivalry game over Oklahoma.

As an Oregon fan, it certainly hurts to lose the way that the Ducks did, and then see the opposing fans having the time of their lives, but it's also hard to blame them. Oregon enjoyed embarrassing Mike Gundy and the Cowboys last season, and when you dish it out, you have to be able to take it in return.
Oklahoma State won the game, and with that win comes the ultimate bragging rights, which the Cowboys have every right to enjoy. Beating the No. 6 team in the country, especially after being written off by so many following a season-opening loss, is certainly cause for celebration. The Cowboys earned their moment, particularly after snapping a 10-game losing streak.
