While Oregon’s 2027 recruiting class appears to be in place with 25 commitments accounting for the Nation’s 4th ranked class, things can change instantly. This time of year with most of the top recruits in the cycle becomes flip season as most programs won’t give up just because a top target picked another school.
When David Jacobs committed to Ohio State in December, it came as a shock given that Miami was seemingly in the lead, but also considering how other schools were pushing. Oregon hadn’t made the strongest surge for Jacobs at that point, but the Ducks have remained a steady contender in his recruitment.
Rashad Streets bashes Ohio State in attempt to flip Jacobs
Elite edge rusher Rashad Streets has been locked in with the Ducks, but there’s always a fear that a player could flip until they arrive on campus. Oregon Ducks fans may not need to worry about anyone going after Streets as he clearly looks locked in to his commitment, recruiting for the Ducks.
When Rashad Streets took his official visit this Summer, he filmed a video to release in which he makes his pitch to 5-star David Jacobs, bashing Ohio State in the process.

According to Rivals’ Industry Recruiting Rankings, David Jacobs is the 3rd ranked player in the Country, the top edge rusher in the class, and the 2nd ranked player out of Georgia. The Ducks are also recruiting David’s younger brother Dawson who’s a 4-star defensive lineman in the 2028 class which is a huge need with how the 2027 class played out.
While David Jacobs hasn’t shown any signs of flipping, you have to love the mentality he’s taking. It couldn’t be more clear that Rashad Streets loves everything about Oregon, and now he’s trying to get others around him as he looks like a leader in this class.
Even current Ohio State commit and Streets’ high school teammate Quinton Cypher is defending his move.

Every great team and every recruiting class needs a player like Rashad Streets. Aside from the great play on the field, Streets is showing that he’s a clear leader with a love for the program, and players like him are how you set and maintain a culture within the program. Even if the flip attempt doesn't work out, you have to love the effort and attitude in which he's attacking the recruiting trail.
It''s only a matter of time before Rashad Streets arrives on campus, and all signs point toward him being a great player to build around long-term.
