Oregon conference championship history: Appearances, wins, records, & more
By Sam Fariss
The Oregon Ducks punched their tickets to the Big Ten Championship game in their first-ever season as a part of the conference. Before the Ducks take on the Penn State Nittany Lions in the conference title game, take a look back at Oregon's history in conference championships.
While this game will be the Ducks' first time in the Big Ten Championship, Oregon actually has the most Pac-12 titles and appearances to its name out of any other program that used to be a part of the conference –– yes, even more than Washington or USC.
Oregon Pac-12 Championship appearances
Year | Score | Winner | Loser |
---|---|---|---|
2011 | 49-31 | No. 8 Oregon | UCLA |
2014 | 51-13 | No. 3 Oregon | No. 8 Arizona |
2019 | 47-15 | No. 13 Oregon | No. 5 Utah |
2020 | 31-24 | Oregon | No. 13 USC |
2021 | 38-19 | No. 14 Utah | No. 10 Oregon |
2023 | 34-31 | No. 3 Washington | No. 5 Oregon |
The Ducks made their way to six Pac-12 Championships before leaving the conference and flew home with four of those conference titles.
Before the Pac-12 added its two final teams, it was the Pac-10 and Oregon stormed its way through that conference as well. In 1994, 2000, 2001, 2009, and 2010, the Ducks walked away from the year as the Pac-10 champions.
Before the Ducks joined the Pac-10, Oregon was in the Pacific Coast Conference. While in the PCC, the Ducks won the 1919, 1933, 1948, and 1957 conference championships. In 1895, Oreogn won its first-ever conference title as a part of the Oregon Intervollegiate Football Association.
Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are scheduled to face the Penn State Nittany Lions at 5 p.m. PT on CBS. The game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN – the home of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.
Lanning has led the Ducks to just one conference title game (Pac-12, 2023) since taking over the program in 2022. Oregon lost to Washington in the last-ever Pac-12 Championship by just one field goal in the matchup.
