In Eugene, it's all systems go for the Oregon Ducks on the recruiting trail as college football's official visit season kicks off. For Dan Lanning and Oregon, there isn't a better time for the Ducks to go on a serious tear as we've seen over the past few summers. It's become a yearly tradition for the Oregon Ducks to sign a top 5 class nationally, and in order to repeat the trend it'll have to be a busy summer.
As things currently stand, Oregon holds the Nation's 10th ranked recruiting class which would be a fine place to finish, but a bit disappointing. The positive side for Oregon is that it appears good news with one of the Ducks top targets could be on the horizon.
Rivals Recruiting Insider predicts Oregon lands WR Dakota Guerrant
Few names will be as familiar for Oregon fans following recruiting as Michigan native Dakota Guerrant. The Ducks have been heavily involved in recruiting Guerrant, and according to insiders like Steve Wiltfong of Rivals, he's even Oregon's most sought after recruit regardless of position.

On Thursday, the Ducks pursuit of their top ranked recruiting target got even more promising as Rivals' Greg Smith logged a prediction for the Ducks to win out for the commitment. The prediction by Smith comes 4 months after Rivals' Insider Steve Wiltfong also predicted Oregon would land the commitment.

Winning out for Dakota Guerrant would be arguably the biggest win of the recruiting cycle thus far for Oregon. Guerrant ranks as the 43rd best player in the country, the 8th ranked wide receiver in the class, and the top player out of Michigan according to the Rivals Industry Recruiting Rankings.
At the High School level, it's clear that Dakota Guerrant best projects as a wide receiver, but he's even played defensive back and quarterback while returning kicks. The best aspect of Guerrant's game is his ability as a route runner while he has the physical tools to continue rounding into form as a prospect.
Thus far, Oregon has built a solid recruiting class, but the Ducks haven't been able to reel in a wide receiver. With a 5-star QB in Will Mencl already committed, the Ducks should have a great chance at landing any wide receiver they make a run at the rest of this recruiting cycle.
Dakota Guerrant is the biggest target for Oregon, and if he gets on board the dominos could quickly fall in place at wide receiver. The Ducks are also trying to beat out the Crimson Tide for 5-star WR and Alabama legacy Xavier Sabb, but pairing the two together with Will Mencl long term would make for an incredible trio for the Ducks.
