The Oregon Ducks have started off their 2024-25 season with a "bang" as Mike Breen would say. At 11-1 overall, the Ducks soared into the Top 25 and currently claim a spot as the No. 9 team in the nation. Most recently, Oregon received an even more impressive nod from long-time college basketball writer Michael "Mike" Decourcy.
In Decourcy's first bracket forecast, three months ahead of March Madness, he gave the Oregon Ducks the No. 1 seed in the West – ahead of teams like Gonzaga Bulldogs, Purdue Boilermakers, and more.

Alongside Oregon with a No. 1 regional seed are the Iowa State Cyclones (currently 10-1 overall and No. 3 in the country), the Auburn Tigers (11-1 overall and No. 2 in the country), and the Tennessee Volunteers (12-0 overall and No. 1 in the country).
It has been nearly a week since the Ducks last saw in-game action when Oregon defeated the Stanford Cardinal but an awe-inspiring 15 points. Head coach Dana Altman and the Ducks will face Weber State on Sunday, Dec. 29 in their final non-conference game before Big Ten play begins.
Oregon kicks off Big Ten conference games against the No. 24 Illinois Fighting Illini on Jan. 2, 2025. While the Ducks are the highest-ranked team in the conference, they currently sit at fourth in Big Ten standings due to their loss to the UCLA Bruins earlier in the season.
The Oregon Ducks and the Weber State Wildcats are scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. PT. The game will be streamed on B1G+.
