Oregon Women's Golf Surges to Big Ten Championship
Kiara Romero won her first tournament of the season in the Big Ten Championship at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre De Grace, Maryland Sunday, pacing the Ducks to the team title in their first year in the conference.
The Webfoot women carded a 12-under-par in the final round to clear second-place Michigan State by 10 shots. Freshman Tong An contributed a bogey free, six-under 66 to win the day.
The fifth-ranked amateur in the world, Romero was the only player under par for all three days of the event, 71-70-68 to win by three shots over Ohio State's Kary Hollenbaugh.

Pritchard ignites the Celts in playoff opener
Duck basketball legend and West Linn High School grad Payton Pritchard came off the bench for 19 points and three assists as Boston opened defense of their NBA Championship with a 103-86 pasting of Orlando at TD Arena.
Point guard Derrick White led all scorers with 30, 7-12 from three-point range. Pritchard, +13 in his analytics score, hit 4-6 beyond the arc and all four of his free throws, 6-8 shooting from the field. He accounted for 19 of the 26 points from the Boston bench in Game One.
Three Ducks for a minute dive into the portal
Quarterback Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele, who enrolled at Oregon and then entered the portal after practicing with the Ducks during Rose Bowl preparation, is entering the portal again after spending spring practice with the Cal Bears.
He's part of a mass exodus on Justin Wilcox's roster. Starting quarterback Fernando Mendoza bolted for Indiana in December. Five running backs entered the portal after spring practice, including 2023 PAC-12 leading rusher Jadyn Ott. Starting tight end Jack Endries signed with Texas.
The problems are multivarious, starting with a lack of NIL funding and a deeply entrenched losing tradition, exacerbated by the hiring of former Auburn and Boise State coach Bryan Harsin, who has reportedly been toxic in the Cal locker room.
Two other former Ducks or Ducks for a minute have joined the 2,700 players in the spring transfer portal. Former Oregon linebacker Harrison Taggart has left BYU, and Caleb Presley, a four-star cornerback who flipped to Washington in 2023, is looking for less purple pastures.
