World Series field set, shows how close Ducks are to the next level

The baseball College World Series begins June 13 in Omaha, Nebraska after completion of the Super Regionals on Sunday.

In the final eight are UCLA, which Oregon tied for Big Ten Championship this season and beat two games to one in a regular season series in Eugene, Oregon State, which the Ducks topped four games to none in three games in Eugene and one in Corvallis, and Arizona, who won the Eugene Super Regional.

Oregon bowed out of the tournament after losing to Utah Valley 6-5 and Cal Poly 10-8 at Regionals. For next season, the Ducks can build around shortstop Maddox Molony and second baseman Ryan Cooney, both of whom should be back.

Mason Neville, Grayson Grinsell, Carter Garate, Jacob Walsh and Jason Reitz are ticketed for the Major League Baseball draft. Drew Smith, Chase Meggars and fireballer Collin Clarke should be back.

Said every recruit ever: Weekend visitors have a great time in Eugene

Five-star prospects Jett Washington, Brandon Arrington and Joey O'Brien, three of the top defensive backs in the country, visited Oregon this weekend with the Ducks making a powerful impression.

Washington told Chad Simmons of On3 Sports, "The feeling was special."

Post-visit euphoria is common in college football. Now Oregon fans will just have to see if it results in commitments. Arrington is scheduled to decide on July 5th between the USC Trojans, Texas A&M Aggies, the Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions and Alabama Crimson Tide.

Everybody has a list, but this one is pretty solid

Multiple outlets from Greg McElroy of ESPN, Pro Football Focus and this one count the Oregon offensive line as a strength in 2025.

The Ducks are building the unit around reliable starting center Iapani "Poncho" Laloulu, Nevada transfer at left tackle Isaiah World, and USC transfer Emmanuel Pregnon, all of whom did not allow a sack in 13 starts last season.

Laloulu posted an 80.6 pass blocking grade from PFF.

In the understandable concern over the injury to Evan Stewart, some fans are forgetting that it's the offensive line that provides the drive train for an offense. The Ducks have dudes up there.

Receivers will have time to get open, and the running game will be strong. It's a potent combination for building an offense.
