At a Celebration of Life July 10, 2024 in Autzen Stadium, teammate Tez Johnson said about Khyree Jackson, "Khyree was one of those guys that you wanted to be around every day. No matter what it was, if you were around Khyree, you were going to have a good day."

Jackson was a few days away from leaving for Minnesota Vikings training camp when he died in a car accident in Prince George County, Maryland in the early morning on July 6th, a passenger in a vehicle hit by a drunken driver.

The Ducks choose to honor and remember him each July on the eve of Fall Camp, along with another fallen teammate, tight end Spencer Webb, with a hike to the top of Spencer Butte south of Eugene.

On Jackson's birthday the team and fans have the opportunity to continue his legacy by contributing to the Khyree Jackson Foundation, which supports needy kids with school supplies and scholarships.

Fox Sports personality Nick Wright dismisses Bo Nix as another version of Mac Jones

For his podcast "What's Wright with Nick Wright" Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright of "First Things First" posted some sharp criticism of former Oregon Duck and Denver Bronco quarterback Bo Nix.

"My take going into the draft: Bo Nix was...Mac Jones." Wright proposed that both quarterbacks were "somewhat fraudulent," the product of records boosted by 5th-place schedules and a misleading playoff run as rookies.

Nix completed 66.3 percent of his passes last season, good for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns while leading the Broncos into the playoffs with a 10-7 record. The year before with former ten-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson at QB, Denver finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs.

Tuesday at Bronco training camp, head coach Sean Payton said of Nix, “I honestly think he’s gonna be one of the top quarterbacks within the next two years. I think he’s going to be a superstar.”

Denver opens the regular season Sunday September 7 hosting Tennessee.
