Lanning, The Duck grace EA Sports cover

Some people live for this stuff. EA Sports released the cover image Tuesday for the College Football 2026 video game and Dan Lanning and The Duck are in the center of the picture.

Uber-talented wide receivers Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State and Ryan Williams of Alabama, both with real-life joystick moves, dominate the foreground.

Even if you don't play the game its debut has significance. Generations of future stars grow up playing, and they adopt a favorite team from the images, sights and sounds of it.

In interviews, prospect after prospect identifies Oregon as their favorite team growing up. They like the high-powered offense and the uniforms, an interest sparked by the video game and big wins on national TV, De'Anthony Thomas breaking the tape.

The brand of football Oregon plays remains a big asset. While it's important to build a strong, physical defense, the Ducks should never deviate from the explosive, fast-paced offense that made them football action heroes.

Offense not only sells tickets, it appeals to the top football players of the future.

More sweet swag for Braiesey Rosa and the Ducks, and a workout at Devon Park

The Oregon softball team is in Oklahoma City to begin preparation for the College World Series. They had a workout yesterday and a box of love from Nike.

Oregon opens at the College World Series Thursday night with a first-round game against Big Ten rival UCLA, 6:30 p.m. PT on ESPN2.

GOAT check in the Big Apple

Sabrina Ionescu and the WNBA Champion New York Liberty ran their 2025 season record to 4-0 Tuesday night with 95-67 win over Golden State.

Ionescu scored 8 points with five rebounds, two steals and six assists, +24 on the stat sheet. Saturday in a 90-88 win over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, she put up 23 on 8-20 shooting.

What the heck is going on in Oregon football recruiting?

Twin announcements last night added to the tide of misery in Oregon football recruiting. Chatsworth, California five-star edge rusher Richard Wesley decommitted, and 2025 signee Alai Kalaniuvalu, a four-star offensive tackle from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, enrolled at BYU instead.

It's more temporary pain for Duck fans who follow recruiting. The news cycle shifts quickly, however, because this weekend is the first of five pivotal visit weekends on the UO campus.

Key recruits like Immanuel Iheanacho. Ryder Lyons, Jett Washington and Brandon Arrington will come through Eugene. If Dan Lanning is going to have a fourth consecutive top ten recruiting class, some good news has to begin to flow over the first two months of summer.
