Evan Williams picks Jared Goff

Evan Williams picked off a pass in the second quarter in Green Bay's 27-13 win over Detroit at Lambeau Field. In his second year with the Packers, Williams led the Ducks in tackles 2023 and made Second Team All-PAC-12, drafted in the fourth round, 111th overall.

In Sunday's win Williams had three tackles and the pick as the Green Bay defense held Lions quarterback Jared Goff to 225 yards passing with four sacks. The secondary held him to just one completion of over 20 yards.

Williams made the All-Rookie team last year after running a 4.56 40 at the NFL combine.

Noah Sewell paces Bears defense in tough loss

Pro Duck Noah Sewell led the Bears in tackles in their 27-24 loss to Minnesota on Monday Night Football. Sewell had nine stops for the Monsters of the Midway, seven solo.

From Malaeimi, American Samoa and Orem High School in Orem, Utah, the 6-1, 246 Sewell starred for the Ducks from 2020-22, twice All-PAC-12. The Bears drafted him in the fifth round in 2023.

PFF Grades? Who needs them!

On Sunday and Monday the lists, rankings and ratings come out, including the PFF performance grades for Saturday's Week Two in college football.

Oddly, Oregon beat a Power 4 team 69-3, the worst loss for Oklahoma State since 1907, yet according to the PFF formula no one apparently played well. The Ducks rolled up 319 yards passing, 312 yards rushing and 10.2 yards per play while the defense forced the Cowboys to punt 10 times.

There were a few that made more sense. Dillon Thieneman ranks third among West Coast safeties with a 77.4 grade, Aaron Flowers 5th. Linebacker Jerry Mixon posted a 96.7 in the Oklahoma State game, 2nd nationally among defensive players with 20 snaps.

Through two games right tackle Alex Harkey is fourth in the West with a blocking grade of 82.7.

It was also a big weekend for basketball recruiting visits.
