College football website makes bold forecast for Makhi Hughes
Mark Pszonak of Mike Farrell Sports predicts new Oregon running back Makhi Hughes, a transfer from Tulane, will lead the Big Ten in rushing in 2025.
He notes that the top four running backs in the conference have left for the NFL, including the Ducks' Jordan James, and that with a new quarterback in Dante Moore, they're a team that will likely lean more on the running game. Pszonak writes:
"The fifth and sixth are Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen, who once again will split carries and production at Penn State in 2025. That leaves the chase for the rushing title in the Big Ten wide open.
Hughes arrives in Eugene after rushing for 2,779 yards and 30 touchdowns during his two seasons with Tulane. He also joins an offense with a new starter at quarterback, likely Dante Moore, so he will be relied on heavily throughout the season. Expect Hughes to be one of the top backs in the country in 2025."
