Decision looms for Ducks, LSU, USC, Texas, Georgia

Panther Creek High four-star wide receiver Jalen Lott of Frisco, Texas announces today at 11:45 a.m. PT on On3 Sports. The 6-0, 170 wideout is rated the No. 54 prospect and No. 2 athlete in the country.

The most reliable measure of how sought after he is lies in the fact that every one of the fan bases involved remains convinced they're sure to get him.

Lott is fast, timed in 10.78 in the 100 meters and 4.44 in the 40. But he's not merely fast, he's tremendously explosive, a regional qualifier in the 110 meter hurdles, a silver medalist in the Texas 4A State high jump (6', 10") and long jump (24', 3.75" personal best).

Both his parents were college athletes at Texas; his sister is a shooting guard at UNLV.

A fan in Texas calls him the most unguardable receiver in the state.

Multiple predictions have Lott deciding for Oregon, but this is one where the last-minute machinations will be fierce. He's an impact player, an igniter. For the Ducks, his commitment would give them a wide receiver room of Moore, Messiah Hampton, Jeremiah McClellan and Gatlin Bair in future seasons, utterly electric.

Viliami Moala decommit could signal Deuce Geralds decision

Recruiting has a dark side, its own voodoo featuring dominoes and tea leaves.

One domino fell yesterday when Viliami Moala broke his pledge to the Ducks and announced a move to Thompson High in Alabaster, Alabama. The three-star defensive tackle had been committed to Oregon since October 13.

The tea leaves suggest (always vague and sinister, those tea leaves) that Moala's decommitment could mean a pending decision by four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds of Suwanee, Georgia, a Tasmanian Devil on the inside pass rush.

I'm not sayin' but I'm sayin', you know what I'm sayin'?

EA Sports College Football 26 hits the market, and it has flaws

The 2026 version of college football's widely popular video game came out in stores yesterday, and it has issues.

First, the game ranks Oregon as the 19th-strongest team in the country. The Sporting News Composite preseason rankings places them at No. 7. FanDuel has their over/under for regular season wins at 10.5, a likely playoff team.

A measure of the overall attention to detail and accuracy in the game lies in their artwork. How can the player ratings be trusted when the images can't?

Not close. Barely recognizable. At least the jersey number is correct. Young Concrete had 10.5 sacks last year, and they rated him a 91.
