Oregon Football Recruiting: Ducks get two five-star visits, miss on a tight end

It will be a tough battle with Ohio State, but 6-3, 190 Mater Dei wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt visited the Ducks mid-week. On Monday he was named a Rivals 5-star.

Another Rivals, 5-star tackle Immanuel Iheanacho took in practice in Eugene over the weekend. The 6-7, 340 prospect from Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda Maryland recently posted a clip of himself powering up 530 pounds in the squat rack.

Monday afternoon 4-star Utah tight end Brock Harris chose BYU over Oregon, Georgia and Michigan.

Two from Duck softball tabbed Big Ten Player of the Week

Oregon pitcher Elise Sokolsky earned Pitcher of the Week honors from the conference, while designated hitter Stefini Ma'ake pulled down the Freshman of the Week award for the third time this season.

Ma'ake mashed three home runs and totaled seven RBI during the Ducks win over Oregon State on Wednesday and three-game sweep of Minnesota, 5-10 at the plate with a slugging percentage of 1.400.

A redshirt junior from Rogers, Arkansas, Sokolsky pitched a complete-game one-hitter in a 9-1 win over OSU Wednesday, striking out six. She won Friday night's opener against MIchigan in relief, hurling an inning and two-thirds of scoreless softball to reach 10-1.

In the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday, she threw five innings of scoreless relief, earning yet another win to reach 11-1. For the week, three wins, 13.2 innings, one earned runs. For the season she sports a 1.88 ERA with 89 strikeouts in 89.1 innings.

Baseball drops in polls, still in sight of tourney berth

After a 2-2 week that included taking two of three from Michigan and losing a midweek game at the University of Portland, Mark Wasikowski's squad fell in the baseball polls Monday.

The Ducks dropped to No. 15 in d1baseball.com, No. 17 at Perfect Game and the coaches' poll and No. 23 at Baseball America.

The team stands 22-9 on the season, 10-5 in the Big Ten, a game and a half behind first-place UCLA at 10-2. They're off until Friday when they travel to Bloomington for a three-game series against Minnesota.
