Electric four-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton of James Monroe Campus School in Rochester, New York decides Friday morning between Oregon and Syracuse.

Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State and Georgia are also in his final group.

New Duck wide receiver coach Ross Douglas began recruiting the explosive wideout when Douglas coached for the Orangemen. The 6-1, 191 kick returner and offensive threat caught 56 passes for 869 yards and eight touchdowns in 2024.

The services unanimously have him trending toward Oregon, and the Ducks could use some good news. They've fallen to No. 33 in the 2026 Rivals Team Rankings, their lowest mark at any point in the Dan Lanning era, 11th in the Big Ten.

Only Maryland and Nebraska have fewer commitments than Oregon's seven. Although it's early, it's not as early as it used to be. With NIL deals players commit earlier. USC has 27 commitments in the class. Penn State has 19, the Buckeyes 15.

The live commitment ceremony will be carried HERE. A profile from WROC News in his hometown:

Hampton is the No. 65 prospect and No. 10 receiver in the country. His commitment would be a much-needed momentum boost for the Ducks with Ryder Lyons, Davon Benjamin and Anthony Jones scheduled to visit this weekend.
