In the fourth quarter on second and three, Cowboys backup quarterback Joe Milton lofted a 35-yard teardrop to Holden down the right sideline.

Conerly solid in Commanders debut

In camp, Commanders coach Dan Quinn told Mike Jones of The Athletic, “He’s really got a more professional attitude, and you know, they said that about him at Oregon, talking to some of the people on the staff there. “They said, ‘This guy really handles his business.’ So, although he’s younger, I definitely feel that.”

Jordan Burch provides pressure in Cardinals opener

Third-round pick for Arizona in the April draft, Burch showed off his quickness with a third-quarter sack. Though it was negated by offsetting penalties, the rep is on the film and nevertheless counts for evaluation purposes.

Earlier, he got penetration and batted down a pass from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Bailey Zappe.

For the move to the pros Burch has trimmed down to 6-4, 280. He posted 8.5 sacks for the Ducks last season.

Jeffrey Bassa comes up with a big stuff

Picked in the fifth round by KC, Bassa tallied 236 tackles in his Oregon career, a defensive team captain and green dot guy as a senior. In 2023 he picked off a pass against Texas Tech and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown to seal a 38-30 win in the fourth quarter, the "Silver Wings" play.

Addison turns back the clock

In Canada, former Oregon great Bralon Addison duplicated an all-time Duck moment with a toe-tap reception against the Toronto Argonauts, good for a two-point conversion just before half.

A play earlier, Addison grabbed a 21-yard touchdown pass from Dru Brown, pivotal plays in the Redblacks' 46-42 win over the Argos.

The two-point play recalled a spectacular touchdown against Arizona State in 2015, the 61-55 triple overtime win in Tempe.

The former four-star recruit from Fort Bend Hightower High School in Missouri City, Texas has played 8 seasons in the CFL. Last night he led all receivers for the Redblacks with 7 catches for 115 yards and the TD.
