Oregon takes rivalry series with comeback win

Melyssa Lombardi's softball squad put up three runs in the top of the 7th to dump OSU 5-3 in Corvallis Wednesday night on ESPN+ and reach 39-4 this season.

They've taken two of three from the Beavers this year.

Emma Cox drove in three runs with a two-out RBI single in the fifth and a two-rbi single in the seventh.

In the 7th the Ducks loaded the bases with an infield single by speedy Kai Luschar, then shortstop Paige Sinicki was hit by a pitch and Kedre Luschar walked. Cox laid the bat on the ball to line a single into right, scoring two to take the lead.

A sacrifice fly by Rylee McCoy plated Kedre for a two-run cushion

.The Ducks used four different pitchers with Lyndsey Grein getting the win with two innings of scoreless relief. She struck out five of the eight batters she faced and allowed just one hit, striking out the side in the seventh.

No. 6 Oregon has a three-game series at the Jane beginning Friday night versus No. 5 UCLA. The two teams are tied for first place in the Big Ten at 12-1.

Lanning lauds Dillon Gabriel on Rome Show

With the NFL draft just a week away, Dan Lanning appeared as a guest on the Jim Rome radio show Wednesday and the host asked him about Oregon's 2024 Heisman finalist at quarterback.

Oregon had a record 12 players invited to the combine in February, and the Ducks are set to shatter the team's record of eight draft picks set last year.
