Softball draws familiar opponent in CWS opener

Oregon earned the Softball College World Series with a series sweep over Liberty in the Eugene Super Regional. On Sunday the field was set for the 8-team tournament final at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, their first since 2018.

The Ducks drew Big Ten foe UCLA in the first round. They'll play Thursday at 6:30 p.m. PT, televised on ESPN2.

They're in a double elimination bracket with the Bruins, Texas Tech and Ole Miss. SEC juggernauts Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and Tennessee are on the other side.

Oregon baseball falls to No. 13 seed, hosts Regional

After being knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament by Nebraska in pool play, Oregon dropped to a No. 13 seed but will still host a four-team regional in Eugene.

The rest of the bracket will be announced at 9 a.m. PT on ESPN2.

It's the fifth year in a row Oregon has qualified for the tournament, the tenth time since reinstating baseball in 2010.
