Jones decision live on McAfee Thursday morning with prediction machines set to Quack

Anthony "Tank" Jones, the five-star edge rusher from Mobile, Alabama, will announce his college decision live on the Pat McAfee Show Thursday morning. A time is not published but typically those live commitment announcements (Ryder Lyons, Tyler Atkinson, Immanuel Iheanacho) come in the 9:30 a.m. PT segment.

Jones, 6-4, 240, is the No. 18 prospect in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite and the No. 4 edge rusher. He's quick and dominating. Last season he tallied 84 tackles and 16 sacks.

Last night at Duck Sports Central, former Rivals analyst Scott Reed posted the following update: "As of 8:22pm Wednesday night, this one looks like Oregon has been able to pull the win late in the process."

"While NIL will always matter with elite prospects (i.e., culture alone will not beat an offer that doubles the second place team), the thing that stands out the most for Jones about Oregon is the branding and the chance to literally be 100% focused on football and school. The business like approach looks like it is going to pay off."

"A note to add: The Oregon staff always felt confident - but the information I had from the other sides was that they were confident as well."

Of course in a recruitment as high-profile as this, in the NIL era there's always the possibility of a last-minute development in the negotiations. Jones told Steve Wiltfong of Rivals/On3,
“I’m ready. “I’m ready to get it over.”

It's a potential blockbuster weekend for Oregon football recruiting with Jones set to announce this morning and defensive tackle Deuce Geralds and Davon Benjamin scheduled for Saturday. At this moment the Ducks lead for all three, which would rocket the 2026 class into the Top Five nationally. Currently they stand No. 11 with 15 commitments.

Sabrina Ionescu, Liberty drop third in a row, 100-93 to Lynx

Despite 31 points from Pro Duck Sabrina Ionescu, the New York Liberty lost 100-93 at Minnesota in a rematch of last October's WNBA Championship.

It was the third loss in a row for the defending champions, who played last night without forward Breanna Stewart, former Duck Nyara Sabally and Kennedy Burke all injured. The team fell to 17-9 on the year, 5-6 on the road.

The four-time WNBA all-star and Duck legend hit 11-20 from the field and 3-8 from three, all six of her free throws with five rebounds and four assists. Former UConn forward Napheesa Collier countered with 30 for the Lynx.

Traeshon Holden makes a spectacular catch

Fighting to make the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent, rookie and Pro Duck Traeshon Holden pulled down a one-handed touchdown catch in the end zone in a scrimmage Wednesday.

NFL preseason action begins tonight with the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, Justin Herbert, Troy Dye, Jamaree Caldwell and the Los Angeles Chargers taking on Penei Sewell and the Detroit Lions, 5:00 p.m. Pacific on NBC.
