Volleyball kicks off Civil War Week with win over Beavers

Oregon women's volleyball lost the first set but stormed back to beat Oregon State in Corvallis, 3-1 to reach 8-1 on the season.

All four sets were close, 23-25, 25-20, 27-25, 27-25.

Liberty face decisive game 3 in Phoenix

Sabrina Ionescu and New York face elimination in Phoenix tonight with their first-round playoff series against Satou Sabally and the Phoenix Mercury goes to a decisive game three in the best-of-three format.

Wednesday night in New York, the four-seed Mercury won an elimination game at the Barclay's Center to force the decider, rushing out to a 51-37 halftime lead and widening it to 86-60 at the final buzzer.

In her third game back from injury Ionescu suffered through a woeful shooting night, 3-13 from the floor, 1-8 from 3-point range. Satou Sabally posted 15 points and seven rebounds for the Mercury.

Game 3 tips off at 6 p.m. PT tonight on ESPN2. After two games, the two-time John Wooden Award winner is 4-20 from distance in the 2025 playoffs. She told Madeline Kenney of the New York Post, "I'll be better Friday."

Pro Duck Jordan Burch shines in his rookie season with the Cardinals

In his first two games as a NFL edge rusher, third-round draft pick Jordan Burch earned a 69.5 grade from Pro Football Focus, 14th among rookies. He's recorded two run stops and two hurries in his first regular-season action as a pro with a pressure rate of 12.1 percent.

Duck women fall to Texas in match play at the Stephens Cup

At the Jackson T. Stephens Cup from Shore Acres in Illinois, the Oregon women finished third in stroke play but lost their first-round match to Texas Wednesday.

Tong An shot a 67 in the third round, while Kiara Romero carded a 4-under 206 to finish tied-second overall. Wake Forest beat Stanford for the championship.
