Pro Ducks Sabally, Ionescu return to lineup as Liberty ready for playoffs
Just one game remains in the WNBA regular season for Nyara Sabally, Sabrina Ionescu and defending champion New York, Thursday night in the Windy City against the 10-33 Chicago Sky.
The playoffs begin Sunday with the fifth-seeded champs taking on the No. 4 seed Phoenix Mercury in a best of three series that begins in Phoenix in a 1-1-1 format. The Mercury are led by Satou Sabally, Nyara's sister and an Oregon stalwart from 2017-2020, the Mercury's leading scorer at 16.4 points per game.
All four of the league's first-round playoff series tip off Sunday head-to-head against the NFL, TV on ESPN and ABC.
Sabally and Ionescu returned to action Tuesday night after missing multiple games with injuries, the New Yorkers defeating the Washington Mystics in Brooklyn 75-66. Sabrina took just five shots in 27 minutes for 6 points, but she added 9 assists and 5 rebounds. After her long rehab Sabally entered the game only briefly.
