The 2028 recruiting cycle is quickly heating up as plenty of top recruits are already making commitments while others start to wind down their recruitment. Oregon is still looking for the first commitment in the 2028 class, but the coaching staff has done a great job early of building relationships with recrutis.
The Ducks are at the level where signing a top 5 class nationally is a tradition, as Dan Lanning has taken recruiting to another level. Oregon is constantly in the mix for the best players in the Country, and elite wide receiver Braylon Clark is a name to know in the 2028 cycle.
Oregon is pushing Ohio State in the recruitment of Braylon Clark
As the 2028 recruiting cycle comes into focus, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong named the top recruits Oregon fans should be keeping an eye on in the class, including 5-star wide receiver Braylon Clark.
"5-star receiver Braylon Clark. Colleague Chad Simmons and I have him predicted to Ohio State. We have Oregon in the top two. There's certainly other contenders for Braylon Clark. He's very familiar with Oregon. Again, pointed to the culture that Dan Lanning has built and uh he elaborated on his relationship with Ross Douglas, the receivers coach, and the receiver production. According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Braylon Clark is the 10th ranked player in the Country, the 4th ranked wide receiver in the class, and the top player out of North Carolina.
At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, Braylon Clark already has a frame built to make an impact at the college level. As a Sophomore, Clark racked up 1,093 yards with 14 total touchdowns, helping build himself into the 5-star caliber prospect.
While Ohio State is predicted to win out for Braylon Clark, Oregon could easily make a pitch that sways Clark's decision. The Buckeyes already have the Nation's 2nd ranked wide receiver in the country, Jett Harrison, on board, so considering his family ties, Clark won't be the true No. 1 in his class, especially with the fans.
The Ducks are already pushing for Braylon Clark, and the clear next step for the coaching staff is getting a quarterback on board that they can pitch to Clark. Oregon has been picked as the heavy favorite to land elite QB recruit Josiah Boyd, and his ability, along with Will Mencl in the 2027 class, gives Clark a clear picture of who his quarterbacks will be.
Getting Braylon Clark on campus for a game this weekend would be great for continuing to build momentum with the 5-star as the Ducks look to chip away at the Buckeyes' early lead.
