The Ducks' perfect season was dashed when the No. 1 Oregon team fell to the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes in the second round of the College Football Playoffs. After the devastating 41-21 loss, players, coaches, and fans were visibly upset about the result.
As he walked off the field for the last time this season, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning made sure that the fans felt the love and gratitude for their support throughout the Ducks' 13-1 season.

Throughout the year, Gabriel completed a stunning 297 pass attempts for 3,558 yards and 28 touchdowns through the air. He ran for an additional 192 yards and 7 touchdowns throughout the season.
Alongside Gabriel as standouts in the game were fellow seniors Bryce Boettcher and Tez Johnson who have both been with the Ducks for a few seasons. While Boettcher may be returning to the team next season, the heartbreak was apparent on the faces of all the players on the sidelines.
As Oregon flies home for the final time this season, Ohio State will prepare for the next round of the Playoffs where they will face the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 10 at 4:30 p.m. PT.
