Oregon football will continue to get primetime treatment following their 32-31 win over Ohio State. The Ducks head to Purdue on a short week for a Friday night game against the Purdue Boilermakers before returning home next week.
With the success and an undefeated record the Ducks drew another primetime matchup, well primetime for a Saturday. The Ducks will get the CBS/Big Ten treatment for the first time on Saturday, Oct. 26. Oregon hosts the Fighting Illini who have had solid success so far this season and started the year undefeated before losing against Penn State,
Illinois gets the CBS treatment in back to back weeks hosting Michigan this weekend before traveling to Eugene to take on the Ducks. Illinois Quarterback Luke Altmyer has thrown for over 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns this season for the 4-1 Illini. As a team they are averaging better than 30 points per game this season while their defense is holding the opposition to 20 points per game.
This past week, Illinois face Purdue and was able to escape West Lafayette with an overtime win, 50-49. The Illinois defense did not play well in the second half giving up 46 second half points to the Boilermakers. They held Purdue to just a field goal in the first half.
For Oregon, a 12:30 p.m. PT start is a welcomed sight considering most of the season have had games end in the dark. Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel started the season completing better than 80 percent of his passes, and has dropped off a bit, mostly from better competition. He is still very efficient with a 76 percent success rate after wins versus Michigan State and Ohio State.
Oregon does not have back to back home games the rest of the season. Oregon visits Purdue on Friday night at 5 p.m. PT on FOX before coming home to host Illinois next Saturday, Oct. 26, for a 12:30 p.m. PT kickoff on CBS.
