Believe it or not, Oregon football has never scored a single point against Ohio State in Autzen Stadium and the two teams have met 10 times in their history.
While this may seem like an insane stat (it kind of is), it must be taken with a grain of salt because Ohio State has only traveled to Autzen Stadium one time in these 10 meetings. In fact, the Buckeyes and Ducks actually played the first-ever game in Autzen back in October of 1967 where Woody Hayes and Ohio State came in and beat Jerry Frei and Oregon 30-0 in front of 25,000 fans.
The first-ever game at Autzen Stadium was a shutout in favor of the bad guys. Six of the other meetings were playing in Columbus with Ohio State holding a 5-1 advantage there, two were in Pasadena for the Rose Bowl, and one was in Arlington, Texas, for the 2015 national title game in which the Buckeyes won.
Dan Lanning and Co. are hoping for better luck this time around as Autzen will be packed with over double the fans (54,000) and will be the loudest stadium that the Buckeyes will likely play in all year.
Fortunately for Oregon, the offense will be much better than what Ohio State saw back in 1967 and the home-field advantage will also play a major factor. This stadium will be rocking with College GameDay in attendance and Dillon Gabriel will have the offense moving all game long.
But even a field goal would mark the first points that Oregon has ever scored at Autzen Stadium against the Buckeyes. But the first win over Ohio State at home is the only goal on the mind.
