The Oregon Ducks are currently wrapping up their second weekend of official visits in Eugene as the staff looks to bolster the 2027 recruiting class. This was a major weekend for the Ducks on the recruiting trail as the staff hosted camps before an interesting group of official visitors. While the major 5-star targets weren't on campus, a ton of intriguing pieces came to campus.
Leaving this weekend, the hope will be that Oregon can land several commitments to add to the 14 they already hold accounting for the Nation's 9th ranked class. Coming into the weekend, in-state 3-star TE George VanSandt was the Oregon native to watch for the Ducks, but that quickly may have changed in the best way possible.
Washington State commit Malachi Garlington received a strong pitch from the Ducks
This weekend, Oregon hosted in-state wide receiver Malachi Garlington for an official visit after offering him a scholarship. Leaving the weekend, it looks like the Cougars should be worried as the Ducks made a major impression on the Happy Valley Native.

The wide receiver recruiting board has been a bit murky for the Ducks as Oregon hasn't landed a commitment at the position to this point. While Oregon continues to battle for some of the Nation's top wide receiver recruits, getting anyone on board at the position would be a nice addition to start building out the room.
According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Garlington is a 3-star recruit ranked as the 1,527th ranked player in the country, the 196th ranked player in the class, and the 5th ranked recruit out of Oregon. The staff is often reserved in offering recruits in-state, and seeing the staff involved with Garlington proves they like his prospects.
Malachi Garlington brings a ton to be excited about at 6-foot-3 with a frame built to succeed at the next level. Despite being a recruit with major size, what stands out on film is the amount of plays that Garlington makes on quick passes with an explosive ability after the catch.
Now Oregon will look to see if they can pull off the flip, and add the in-state target to an impressive recruiting haul. Getting Malachi Garlington on board would be great while the staff continues to push for Xavier Sabb and Dakota Guerrant as this could end up quickly becoming one of the best recruiting hauls at wide receiver in the Country.
