Oregon commit at defensive tackle Viliami Moala won Defensive Tackle Top Performer at the Polynesian Bowl Camp at Bishop Gorman High School over the weekend, impressing scouts again with his strength and quickness as he dominated some of the top offensive linemen in the country in drills.
Moala, 6-3, 295, a four-star recruit from Bingham, Utah who has transferred to Willamette High School in Eugene, repeatedly beat opponents off the ball in the three-day camp. He committed to the Ducks in October after visiting Ohio State and flipping from USC.
He's still being heavily pursued by the Trojans, Utah, UCLA and Brigham Young.

As of now the Ducks have commitments from three of the top interior defensive linemen in the West in Moala, 6-3, 290 Tomuhini Topui of Mater Dei and 6-5, 285 Tony Cumberland, originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, now at Willamette along with Moala. The Trojans are also applying the NIL crowbar to try and pry Topui away from the Ducks as well.
It's an exceptional year in West Coast recruiting, particularly in the trenches, a prime opportunity for Dan Lanning and defensive line coach Tony Tuioti to stack another top five class, maybe even a number one class. High school recruiting remains the foundation of national championship contention. To compete in the playoffs a coaching staff has to stack classes and achieve depth, strength and quickness in the trenches.
In addition to his award Moala won a spot on the roster at the 2026 Polynesian Bowl at Kunuiakea Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, a week-long event that combines football instruction and competition with a celebration of Polynesian culture and community. The event is headed by former NFL all-pro Jesse Sapolu.
