Jackson Cantwell, the nation's No.1 offensive tackle and the No. 1 2026 recruit overall, is nearing a decision on his football future.
Thursday he told Steve Wiltfong of On3 Sports, "I have all the information I need."
Georgia, Oregon and Miami are battling it out for the 6-8, 300-pound offensive tackle from Nixa, Missouri, who is also the best high school shot putter in the nation.
Last June Cantwell set a Hayward Field record for high school throwers at the Under 20 National Championships, heaving the shot 73 feet, 5 1/4 inches.
He's the son of two Olympic athletes. Cantwell's father Christian won the silver medal in the shot put at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, two months after Jackson was born. His mother Teri Steer Cantwell won the NCAA Championship in the shot for SMU in 1996, a two-time national champion from Crete, Nebraska.
Jackson led the Nixa Eagles to a 13-1 record and a state runner-up finish as a junior. He's a 4.0 student who scored in the 98th percentile on the ACT college entrance exam before he entered high school.
Prodigiously strong and passionate about weight training and development, Cantwell could bench press 405 pounds eight times a year ago as a high school sophomore. He's put up 225, the NFL combine standard, 22 times. That mark would place him in the top half of 22-year-old pro prospects at the combine.
He'll command an NIL deal On3 estimates at $1.5 million. The Ducks' pitch for him included school visits by both Dan Lanning and offensive line coach A'lique Terry this January.

“I think my favorite head coach still to this day has been Dan Lanning. I think everyone can understand. Great guy. Missouri guy."🦆
