The Ducks are set at running back for the next couple of years with the prolific tandem of Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill, the true freshmen sensations that have combined for 579 yards and 11 touchdowns in their first seven games in Oregon backfield.

That devastating combination of speed and power looks good for now, but the coaching staff has to think of the future. They've got versatile, explosive Tradarian Ball lined up for this cycle, and today the top prospect in the 2027 class, 5-9, 205 Pennsylvania powerhouse Kemon Spell, set a visit for the USC game on November 22.

Spell earned honors as the No. 1 running back and No. 7 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite. After decommitting from Penn State on October 12 in the wake of the James Franklin dismissal, he has visits lined up to Syracuse, Miami, Georgia and Michigan as well as the Ducks.

He recently tripped to Notre Dame in time to see the Irish combo of Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price pound USC for 315 yards and two touchdowns.

After the visit Spell said, "I want to play for a winner." He told On3 Sports, ā€œI’m leaning toward Notre Dame a lot. I like the program. I like being up there.ā€

He's built low to the ground and runs with power, shifty, quick to the hole, efficient.

As a sophomore he played fullback in a flexbone offense, a different role than he'll have in college, but great training in that he's decisive and has great balance. He runs tough in a way that will remind fans a bit of Heisman Trophy finalist Ashton Jeanty in terms of style.

With Notre Dame, Miami and Georgia in the mix, this will be a difficult recruitment. Having him in town for the USC game, watching Hill and Davison operate up close in the Oregon offense makes a strong sales pitch.
