Five-star tackle Immanuel Iheanacho raves, ponders moving up commitment

After a visit to Oregon this weekend No. 4 overall recruit and No. 2 offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho announced he's contemplating moving up his commitment date to August 5.

The five-star offensive tackle from Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda, Maryland came to Eugene for his last official visit of June and raved about it. His younger brother Michael got an Oregon offer on the trip and the two connected with the Oregon coaches and potential future teammates.

He told Max Torres of Scoop Duck and On3 Sports, "'To have the feeling that I had, it was second to none."

Four-star linebacker Nick Abrams down to 4

Owings Mills, Maryland linebacker Nick Abrams took his visit this weekend and said, “They didn’t really have to pitch anything. They showed me why Oregon could be my home. I definitely felt it.”

The 6-2, 210 linebacker ranks No. 210 in the 2026 class, the No. 16 LB. With Bryce Boettcher graduating and Devon Jackson entering his redshirt junior season the Ducks want to take at least two linebackers this cycle. They covet Abrams for his versatility and closing speed, a pass rusher, run stopper and coverage guy.

Johnathan Lewis of "The Bama Standard" highlights his football IQ and ability to diagnose plays.

Abrams is down to a final four of Oregon, Alabama, Georgia and MIchigan. He announces on his 17th birthday, July 16.

Oregon commits solidify their decisions with stellar OVs

Dynamic pass-catching threats WR Messiah Hampton, TE Kendre Harrison and RB Tradarian Ball all took their official visits this weekend and all three have shut down their recruitment.

Thus far the Oregon class is small, alarmingly small when fans consider that conference rival USC has 30 commitments and Texas A&M and Notre Dame have 19. The Ducks have nine, albeit with a high rating-per-recruit ratio. Illinois, Penn State and UCLA crack the Top Ten with 23, 21, and 20 commitments.

The Ducks' pace has been maddeningly slow in a year where other teams are acting like the new revenue-sharing and NIL limits don't exist or are certain to be thrown out in court.

Still, a class built around these three has star power, assuring there will be no outage in the future Oregon offense. You simply couldn't pick a better three-headed monster to build an offense around in future seasons.

Ducks close in on three promising quarterbacks

Matt Ponatoski and Bryson Beaver visited Oregon this weekend, five-star Ryder Lyons a week ago. Lyons announces on Tuesday after a weekend visit to BYU.

The recruiting services are tripping over themselves predicting that Lyons will choose the Cougars. He's a devout member of the LDS church, his parents both went there, his sister lives in Provo and the program boasts a rich NIL war chest. Lyons intends to take an LDS mission and won't start his football career until 2027.

Ponatoski and Beaver each exulted about their Oregon visit. Ponatoski, the Cincinnati Moeller two-way star called Oregon "a super contender" after his trip.

Beaver said to Torres, "I think they have a really good plan for me." He's 6-3, 200, fresh off a breakout performance at the Elite 11 quarterback competition, a senior from Vista Murrieta High who threw for 3,214 yards and 33 touchdowns last season.

Lyons has far and away the most impressive film and makeup of the three but all three are competent D1 quarterback prospects with upside. The Ducks want at least one QB in the 2026 class, two if they can land the Folsom, California 5-star.

The quarterback legacy is strong in Eugene.

2027 prospect to look out for

From Gilmer, Texas Ismael Camara received an Oregon offer on June 3, ranked the No. 57 prospect and No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class.

What's outstanding about Camara is that he's not about the hype videos and the offer list, he's gone to work to elevate his game.
