Kayden Dixon-Wyatt is a wanted man.
The four-star receiver from Mater Dei High School chooses Sunday May 4 between USC, Oregon, Alabama, Ohio State and Texas. The offer list alone offers a clue about his potential as a college prospect.
He's the No. 31 recruit in the country and the No. 5 wide receiver according to Rivals, a fluid pass catcher who excels at contested catches and big plays.
Last season for MaxPreps National Champion Mater Dei, Dixon-Wyatt grabbed 50 passes for 693 yards and five touchdowns. That's on a loaded roster where he played with teammates like Nasir Wyatt and Jordon Davison, now playing for the Ducks. He played with Ducks Aydin Breeland and Jack Ressler as a sophomore.
Dixon-Wyatt visited Eugene for Junior Day in January and again on April 18, the weekend of Oregon's second scrimmage of spring practice.
When asked about his visit by On3 Sports he said, “Oregon has always been a top school for me, but they have recently really started to separate themselves from the other schools.”
“I’ve built a great relationship with the head coach – Dan Lanning… I have former high school teammates on the team. It’s not that far away. It feels like home every single time I go over there.”
All that sounds good, but the 6-1, 180 junior has made trips to Ohio State and USC this spring also.
Top schools want him because he stands out against elite competition in the Trinity League.
Against Servite last year he sprinted to the left corner of the end zone with a defender draped all over him and came down with a touchdown catch one-handed. In CIF Southern Section D1 championship against St. John Bosco he pulled down a pass for 42 yards, the Monarchs' longest play of the game.
He's clutch that way. Oregon's become a haven for top receiver talent and new wide receiver coach Ross Douglas has a strong track record for development, a former NFL coach under Bill Belichick at New England.
Dixon-Wyatt's decision will be broadcast live on the 247 Sports YouTube Channel. It's the first of some big ones for the Ducks as Jared Curtis announces on May 5 and Jackson Cantwell on May 13th.
By then the trajectory of Oregon's 2026 recruiting class will be very clear.
Announces Sunday. Ducks in Top Five.
