Oregon football will host Maryland for afternoon start on Big Ten Network
Oregon football now knows when they will play their second to last game of the 2024 season. The Ducks will host the Maryland Terrapins for the first time on Saturday, Nov. 2, for a 4 p.m. PST kickoff.
The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
Since the last game on the Big Ten Network, which was not viewable by fans on Comcast, a change has been made to their ability to show Oregon events, not just football, but other sports on the Big Ten Network. Comcast has coverage on one of their respective tiers on the west coast for all of the 'newer' teams to the Big Ten including UCLA, USC, Washington, as well as the Ducks. This was a big issue early on in the season that has since been corrected for those not going to Autzen Stadium for the game.
Game times for Oregon this season, their first in the Big ten has been pretty solid. There have not been too many late games, at least on Saturdays. I have always been a fan of games between noon and 4 p.m. as it gives those who live outside of Eugene time to get where they need to without having to have an overnight, unless they choose to.
The Ducks are coming off back to back national television appearances and now have a third. Oregon beat Purdue on the road several weeks back, then hosted Illinois for a win last Saturday on CBS. The CBS crew will again have a familiar team in their sights this week as Oregon (and CBS for that matter) travel to the Big House as the Ducks take on Michigan at 12:30 p.m. PST.
I fully expect Oregon to have the spotlight the rest of the way this season. As the top team in the country, it is deserved. I expect the Ducks defense to again stand up vs the Wolverines this weekend. Oregon has given up just nine points the last two games, a shutout versus Purdue, and a 9-point performance against Illinois.
