Duck fans got some devastating injury news ahead of Saturday's game against 8-3 Washington in Husky Stadium, 12:30 p.m. on CBS.

Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire relays that Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports that Dakorien Moore and Gary Bryant Jr. will be out today. Moore needs more time to repair an injured knee, while Bryant Jr. is nursing an injured ankle.

That means Dante Moore will have to rely on speedster Malik Benson, Jeremiah McClellan and tight end Kenyon Sadiq as his principal targets in the passing game. He threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns against Minnesota, 257 and two touchdowns against USC.

McClellan injured a shoulder in the 42-27 win over USC but returned to the game. He's been a reliable weapon on third down for the Ducks, 22 catches for 319 yards and two touchdowns. Benson has five catches of more than 30 yards, most on the team.

Justius Lowe and four-star freshman Cooper Perry are the first receivers off the bench, although neither has been effective this season. Reserve tight end Jamari Johnson has contributed some big plays, one of Oregon's most effective weapons in spot duty.

A 6-5. 257 transfer from Louisville, Johnson has 20 catches for 260 yards, including a 56-yard pass play against Rutgers and a 24-yard connection versus Minnesota. He's excelled on screens and crossing routes, working against the grain.

Ducks will rely on heavy looks to compensate for injury toll

One way for Oregon to combat the injury toll is to go heavy, employing two backs and/or three tight ends, force the Huskies to try and stop their potent running game, then hit them with play-action to Benson, McClellan and Sadiq. They had good success splitting Sadiq out wide, taking advantage of his versatility and the extreme matchup challenge he poses.

The Mackey Award finalist from Idaho Falls has been a matchup nightmare in recent weeks, Oregon's leading receiver with 36 catches for 479 yards and eight touchdowns, the eight scores tops among FBS tight ends.

He's approaching Oregon's single season records for catches, yards and touchdowns after grabbing six passes for 72 yards and two TDs versus USC, eight balls for 96 yards and a score against Minnesota.

On the Washington side, Pete Thamel of ESPN reports Denzel Boston and Jonah Coleman will play as expected. It's incredible how well the Ducks have dealt with the loss of so many playmakers, a testament to how deep and resilient this team has been. Cornerback Tacario Davis is questionable, Thamel reports, opening up another matchup window.
