Silver wings, shining in the sun: You knew for a rematch with that team from Lubbock, the Ducks would have to wear the silver wings.

This time they're pairing them with black helmets, silver numerals trimmed in black, white jerseys and white pants. It's an update of the famed Storm Trooper look, a TV-friendly contrast to the Red and Black of the Red Raiders.

It's one of the earliest uniform reveals in memory, eight days before the College Football Playoff quarterfinal against No. 4 Texas Tech at the Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, 9 a.m. PT on New Year's Day, televised on ESPN.

The Ducks are 2.5-point favorites over the Big 12 Champions. It's a clash of strong defenses and explosive offenses with TTU ranking as No. 2 in the country in scoring offense at 42.5 points a game, No. 3 in scoring defense allowing just 10.9 points a game.

No opponent has scored more than 26 points. Seven opponents have been held to 10 points or less. The numbers are impressive, but the website Sports Betting Dime ranks Tech's schedule 66th in the country. Oregon ranks 24th.

Recently passed over for the Joe Moore Award, the athletic office chose the offensive line to model the Orange Bowl uniform look.
