Saturday on his "Ducks of a Feather" podcast, Kenjon Barner had some sharp words for Trojan fans after a testy exchange on X and their gloating over recent recruiting successes.
Barner said, "My advice to SC fans: humble yourselves. Get quiet, and win more than seven game.
USC fans had a field day when Dan Lanning jumped into a pool with five-star defensive end Richard Wesley, only to have the young man and his family back away from the viral commitment announcement 17 days later.
Trojan fans trolled the Oregon coach with a clip from "Anchorman," the Will Ferrell comedy hit where Ron Burgundy breaks up a pool party with an urgent announcement, a cannonball into a pool. The subtle dig followed the commitment of Mark Bowman, a five-star tight end on May 30.
Farrell's a Trojan, a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and an avid fan, so the movie reference had a certain resonance. SC fans added the trumpets from "Conquest."

"I like it, I do. I love the video and I love the response," Barner said.
Co-host and 11-year veteran Jonathan Stewart asked, "How many touchdowns did you have on them?"
"Five."
"We're here to talk about the audacity one, of this program, two of the fanbase. This fanbase is starting to remind me of the Dallas Cowboy fanbase. Just annoying, right?"
"A Trojan is only good for one thing, and sometimes they break."
When a guy runs for 300 and five tugs, he's free to talk some trash.
The two Duck legends went on to talk about the Evan Stewart injury, the Hall of Fame ballot and Big Ten predictions by Jake Butt and Adam Breneman.
On the field, the Trojans could be on the upswing in 2025 with a favorable schedule, experience at quarterback and an improved defense. Their 2026 recruiting class ranks first in the nation with 28 commits.
USC travels to Oregon on November 22.
