The Oregon Ducks are in the middle of the first major recruiting weekend of the Spring as the first group of official visits is underway in Eugene. As the Ducks look to sign another top 5 recruiting class, the Oregon Ducks have plenty of work to do to reach that point, as they currently hold the Nation's 9th ranked class. Part of the official visit season isn't just about which recruits are on campus, but where top targets are visiting.
While Oregon has a talented group on campus this weekend, not every target is in Eugene for the weekend's events. Among the targets that's on the road elsewhere is running back recruit Jakoby Dixon.
Jakoby Dixon picking Oklahoma isn't a setback for the Oregon Ducks
On Sunday, running back recruit Jakoby Dixon announced that he was committing to Oklahoma, picking the Sooners over Oregon, Texas, and Texas A&M.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Jakoby Dixon is the 556th ranked player in the country, the 44th ranked running back in the class, and the 77th ranked player out of Texas. Oklahoma just recently entered Dixon's recruitment, and quickly won out, but in the end Dan Lanning and the Ducks will be more than fine.
Thus far, Oregon already holds a commitment from a running back in CaDarius McMiller who ranks 172nd in the country and as the 10th best running back in the class. If Oregon only added McMiller it would be a nice haul at running back, but Dan Lanning and the staff are pushing for more.
The biggest running back target for the Oregon Ducks remains Texas Native, Landen Williams-Callis. Coming out of the weekend, it should be clear where Oregon lands with the 4-star recruit as he took his official visit to Eugene for the weekend.

Landen Williams-Callis recently released a top 10 list that included the Oregon Ducks, and making a push to get him on campus as soon as the official visit season started was a smart move. The hope coming out of the weekend will be that Oregon is on the shortlist of contenders for Williams-Callis as he'd be a massive addition to this class.
According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, the Texas Native is a 4-star recruit ranked as the 45th ranked player in the country, the 3rd ranked running back in the class, and the 8th ranked player out of Texas. Williams-Callis was absurd this past season, rushing for 3,502 yards and 59 touchdowns while adding 266 yards and a score as a receiver, as well as a kick return touchdown and a passing touchdown.
Landing Williams-Callis would be a major win for Dan Lanning and the Ducks, especially as he could very easily end the cycle as a 5-star recruit. Coming out of the weekend, knowing where the Ducks stand with the top target will be key, and hopefully it'll be as a front runner.
