Saturday morning Aaron Scott, a 6-0, 195 cornerback from Springfield, Ohio committed to the Ducks after a weekend recruiting visit, a five-star in the class of 2024.
He spent the last two seasons as a backup at OSU, appearing in 19 games while guarding Emeka Egbuka, Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate every day in practice. The Springfield, Ohio native posted nine tackles this season with one tackle for loss and one pass broken up, in line to compete for a starting job in 2026. As a freshman, he played seven games, two tackles and a PBU.
In 2024 Scott ranked as the No. 51 prospect and No. 5 cornerback as a high school recruit according to 247 Sports. As a portal target, he's No. 291, No. 19 among cornerbacks.
He has two seasons to play with a redshirt year available. His addition helps compensate for the loss of six defensive backs to transfer, including Daylen Austin, Dakoda Fields and Jahlil Florence.

The portal giveth, and the portal taketh away
In this case it's given the Ducks a high-profile target with Big Ten experience at a premier program, at least an equivalent in potential to one or two of the best defensive backs they have lost. It doesn't hurt either that he'll provide a bit of intel about the Ohio State defense and its signals and tendencies, something coaches rarely talk about.
